First some quick information on your UTP Devices... Twisted Sender is recommended for use with unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wiring. The systems will operate over wire gauges from 26 AWG through 12 AWG but are optimized for 24 AWG. Category 2, 3, 4 or 5 cable may be used. Individually shielded pairs should be avoided as they drastically reduce the operating range of the systems. Multi-pair cable with an overall shield is acceptable (but do not use the shield). Video can be operated in the same communication cable coexistent with telephone, computer, control signals, power voltages and other video signals. While video may be routed through telephone punch-down block terminals, any bridge-taps, also called T-taps and any resistive, capacitive or inductive devices MUST BE removed from the pair. Did you do this on the existing phone line? What you are seeing is a ground loop. So that tells me there is something along your cable run that is changing the ground potential. (difference between your cameras’s ground and your DVR’s ground) I would check your phone line for bad connections and to make sure you don’t have any resistive capacitive or inductive devices still connected. Or you can use a GIT100 that Pelco (800) 289-9100 For more specific information regarding wire types, gauges and proper installation techniques, please call (800) 528-4343 for technical assistance. New cameras work BUT I have no night coverage on the cameras and wonderful day pictures.

You don't want to let more light in the hole if you want it to work at night. Plug one of the cameras that work at night into the plug of one of the cameras that don't work at night and see what happens, if the problem moves with the camera then it is a bad camera or the wrong model for your system.

Unable to view data when transferred onto storage disks. Shows same scene when trying to access picture on new storage disk. Recorded fine for a year (about 1 terrabyte) before having to transfer data; lately on new recordings, getting purple-gray vertical stripes in and out on one of 4 cameras. Also, unable to expand picture to full screen. Problems occur during playback. All four cameras look good and clear when not playing back.

Hellowhat you have written sound like hard drive issues, lines on recordings could be bad sectors on a hard drive.I'd suggest you transfer the recordings off the hard drives and have the drives tested, you can test them yourself if you have a spare computer with appropriate hard drive connectors available and a cd romdrive.MHDD is a free advanced low level hard drive diagnostic software. and burn the disc image, start the computer off the cd, with the hard drive connected select it from the detection screen, hit F2 to start up the drive, hit F4 for Scan, leave everything as is and then hold down CTRL and press enter to start the scan.all you should see in a good condition hard drive is gray spots, if you get green, red, or any other color, or the program hangs / the numbers go forward at the top very slowly, or you get a busy red sign stuck there, you have most likely a faulty hard drive. it is OK if it flashes and the program goes on, if it hangs at any point the drive is faulty.on a working hard drive you could have this scan / test run endlessly for days without any issues.
