System Low Battery

I just bought a brand new GE Wireless Simon 3 security system and ever since it was set up the system status light is always lit and it says "System Low Battery".  Its brand new though and the manuel states the batteries usually lst 2 - 3 years.  What can I do or do I need a new battery?? Also, probably because there is a low battery...when i select no entry delay and open a window the alarm/siren doesn't go off.  It said in the manuel it might not if your system is on low battery.. so that could be why but I just don't understand why I am having so many problems so soon!!

System Low Battery

Response 1 is correct. If you plugged the transformer into an outlet before connecting the battery the system wont see the battery and give you that error. Should be a simple fix however. Unplug the battery and then the transformer, then reverse the process. Plug in the battery and your Simon should power up, then plug in the transformer. If this doesn't help then you should replace the battery. Did you buy the system from a dealer and have it professionally installed or did you do-it-yourself? If it was professionally installed have your technician come back out to diagnose/replace the battery if needed. Good Luck.

Low Battery warning on Simon 3 even when I changed it out

Temperature affects batteries. if the batteries on the window sensors have been in use for some time it is probably time to change them. Alarm batteries are only expected to last 3 to 5 years with moderate use. If you have close neighbors or live in an apartment complex then false reads could be a factor.

Simon 3 "System Low Battery" after 3 years use

I install these panels.  For the low battery message to clear you need to power the system down completely.  To do this you need to unplug the battery and also unplug the transformer plugged into an electrical outlet.  When you power the system back up, you need to first plug in the battery leads.  Then the transformer.

How do I open the system to get to the battery?

The battery is located inside the panel. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the slt at the top (front) of the panel and release the catch. The panel will fold down to reveal the PCB panel, the battery and the cabling connections for hardwired sensors, telephone & 9V AC power supply. How do I access a system battery in a Ge Simon 3, keeps saying "system low battery" already replaced all window and door sensor batteries and 6volt in garage, still says "system low battery" Now what?

This is strait from the manual. This condition occurs if a system sensor has a low battery. The sensor may still be communicating with the panel. Status beeps will start and the SYSTEM STATUS button will light. Press the SYSTEM STATUS button to hear which sensor has a low battery. It may be necessary for you to call your security system dealer to resolve this problem. Some sensor batteries can be replaced by the homeowner. You can get the manual here on link below if you need.

I replaced the battery on my GE Simon Security System with a new battery yesterday 27 hours ago and still get the low system battery alarm. I upnplugged the transformer disconnected the batterty and reconnected battery and plugged the transformer in and still get the alarm. This alarm going off every 4 hours and the middle of the night is terrible. Help

Did you run sensor test(drop down cover enter you code pess test button then done button. let run 5 min. close cover press status button If that fixes great. If not, you need multi meter. remove battery put metter on leeds coming off panel. You should see voltage there at least equal to the battery. If not then you may see the the red wire for battery has a lump in it about 1" long that is a fuse. remove wire from panel and meter for resistance/continuity/ohms what ever you want to call it. if there is no resistance or an open ckt then replace that wire.if you see resistance in wire then you have a bad panel. GL.
