Guide :Home Security : Security Simon 3 Wireless Home Security System

Simon system This system was put in when we bought the home. Unfortunately, we are not using this alarm and the alarm has been set off. We cannot get the alarm disarmed now and I cannot get anyone to return my call. I have printed the manual off online but is of no use to me since I do not have an access code. I also tried entering 64321 and that is not helpful. Is there a panel to pull off to remove a battery? Need help!!!!

Yes at the top of the unit there is a tab or a slot for the tab version press tab with thumb then swing cover down. For the version with the slot insert screwdriver press up and then swing cover down. The unit has a 9 volt plug in transformer that should be near by unplug it as well as disconnecting battery. We have the #60-875 system. 1.About every 5 minutes, it says module is OK. How do we get this to stop? We cannot get the system status light to turn off. What do we need to do to turn the turn system status light off? thanks for your help. 2.Are we able to tie this alarm system in to the Control 4 System, We understand it needs to be either IP or RS232 capable. What do we need to do to make this possible?

IP means Iiternet provider: your ISP (the controller module needs to be connected to the internet by using a: RS232 cable a serial computer cable connected to a home computer. Read the book or, contact the company to see how to connect the alarm as, I do not know how it has been installed and, can not "see" it from here. Hope this helps you.

Low Battery warning on Simon 3 even when I changed it out

Temperature affects batteries. if the batteries on the window sensors have been in use for some time it is probably time to change them. Alarm batteries are only expected to last 3 to 5 years with moderate use. If you have close neighbors or live in an apartment complex then false reads could be a factor.

I have a GE Simon Security System with a GE Simon 3- X10 Line Carrier Transformer that powers a siren. Since the X10 transformer was installed, I constantly get sensor 'failures.' Although the panel status shows a failure, the alarm will still sound if that sensor is opened, so we think it is a false failure. My home also has an X10 system that controls several outside lights from a master panel. The security company that installed the system has been unable to solve this problem. So far, they have replaced all the sensors that have 'failed' (several times) and also replaced the panel itself. This did not stop the problem. Is the the problem due to some type of interferance in the wiring because there is X10 wiring in the home? Can you help me? Where do we go from here other than to replace the X10 transformer with a regular transformer, which means we will not have a siren in the basement. Thank you!

X10 is a signal format transmitted over the power lines, there is no special X10 wiring in the house as such. The siren and your outside lights are X10 receivers which are sent a signal from the X10 transformer connected to the alarm panel. The alarm panel sends the codes which are transmitted as X10 to the X10 external devices. Most houses now days have at least two 120 volt feeds coming into the main power panel, this provides the 240 volt required for electric stoves and dryers. Because of the two separate feeds split at the panel, the 60 cycles is usually out of phase with each other. To get X10 to work and stay in phase on each side of the panel you need to have wired a passive coupler across both 120 volt inputs. This coupler keeps both 120 inputs in phase with each other and provides a clear X10 transmit across the house wiring.

Just bought a simon 3 ge alarm control panel. After entering the master code, and pressing ''add'', I press ''sensor/remote'' and I get a message ''fuction not available''. So I cannot add any of my sensors in my home at all.

You sahouldn't have to add them, Turn the unit off and restart it it should find the sensors and liust them. Then all you need to do is njhame them and set6 thyeir on/off time function to control exit entry on movement sensors or light sensors etc. Have you got the manual? There is a complete rundown to programming trhe sensors once they are registerd by the unit

I replaced the battery on my GE Simon Security System with a new battery yesterday 27 hours ago and still get the low system battery alarm. I upnplugged the transformer disconnected the batterty and reconnected battery and plugged the transformer in and still get the alarm. This alarm going off every 4 hours and the middle of the night is terrible. Help

Did you run sensor test(drop down cover enter you code pess test button then done button. let run 5 min. close cover press status button If that fixes great. If not, you need multi meter. remove battery put metter on leeds coming off panel. You should see voltage there at least equal to the battery. If not then you may see the the red wire for battery has a lump in it about 1" long that is a fuse. remove wire from panel and meter for resistance/continuity/ohms what ever you want to call it. if there is no resistance or an open ckt then replace that wire.if you see resistance in wire then you have a bad panel. GL.
