Pm 909 Thanks for the advise, I know that my B+ is low but am having difficulties in finding the cause. I cannot adjust to the correct 11 volts I have go so far as to swap components from another known good monitor Flyback swapped CRT and Yoke swapped ALL electrolytics Replaced All coils (chokes) swapped All transistors swapped Power Supply swapped via jumper wires (The supply from the "bad" monitor powered the "good" monitor properly) I think I'm down to Ceramic/mica caps and resistors and ther's a mess of them little buggers I'm at my witt's end Thanks again fo rthe help

Those mica and ceramics don't usually go bad.if the B+ is low, then keep looking there. It may be in the bias voltage of the regulator? If I had a schematic and some voltages from tests, I might be able to pinpoint it.

Bought an UPS power supply for Lorex L23WD845 Security system. Came home next day and power supply was still on but the system did not have power light on. Looks like power dropped and disconnected Lorex system. Now it will not boot up and when I reconnect power a SOS beeping comes on with no booting up. Had power disconnected from another system same as above and company sent me a new unit. I pushed reset button on back of mother board but system doesn't boot up.

Edward_sm123, From your description it certainly sounds like the problem is with the security power supply. If the power did drop (brown out) or bump (spike) it certainly would explain the security unit failing. With a UPS on the system though I would not have expected the power to change. You may also have a problem with the UPS which could be causing the problem with your security system. Unfortunately the only way to find out if you have a problem with the UPS is to monitor the output with a recording voltmeter. If you have one I would hook it up to the UPS and monitor the unit for about a week with equipment hooked to the UPS to load it down. If it can survive a week without failing it should be OK. If it doesn't replace it. As far as the security system if it is under warranty I would go to the manufacturer for another unit. If it isn't under warranty I would troubleshoot the power supply, replace the power supply board or take the unit to a shop which can repair it. Usually the schematics can be found for free on line. This will make it easier to troubleshoot. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4425498-basic_standard_tv_troubleshooting which explains how to troubleshoot a Television Low voltage and high voltage circuits which may help you. Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. hardrocko
